Ayaz Basrai

Ayaz Basrai is co-founder of The Busride Design Studio, a leading architecture and interior design firm in India. Busrai graduated in industrial design, specialising in product design, from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, in 2003. He founded The Busride with his architect brother Zameer (CEPT/MIT) in 2006 as an independent design studio specialising in the design and creation of built environments ranging from hospitality and entertainment to film and production, exhibitions and installations, and institutional and architectural environments.

More recently, Busrai heads The Busride Lab in Goa, working with speculative fiction, heritage conservation, and their ongoing India Futures Project, trying to visualise and birth meaningful Indian futures. The Lab follows a promiscuously collaborative model and is an active part of the emerging creative and cultural landscape in Goa, working towards creating meaningful public space and supporting activism and educational initiatives across Goa and India.
