Sunder Balakrishnan

Dr. Sunder is presently Director at Natur Tec, India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Northern Technologies International Corporation, USA. In his present capacity, Dr. Sunder is responsible for commercializing and marketing (within India and the SAARC region) NTIC’s technology platforms in the area of Bio based and Bio degradable plastics. Prior to joining the Natur-TecTM business unit, Sunder was the Technical Head at Harita NTI for the Zerust® business unit. (Dealing in comprehensive solutions on corrosion management). In that capacity, he was primarily responsible for Technology, Technical support and New Product Development functions.

Dr. Sunder received a doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan in the area of “Reactive Extrusion of Biopolymers and composites”. He received his Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from University Department of Chemical Technology, UDCT Mumbai. He has co-authored several U.S. Patents and International publications in the area of Bioplastics and is also a representative on Bio-polymers at International Standards Organization and Bureau of Indian Standards. He served as a National Consultant to UNIDO, International Centre for Advancements in Manufacturing Technology in the area of Biobased and Biodegradable Polymers.
