Independent Design Consultant, Lettering Artist
Sulekha Rajkumar is an independent type designer, lettering artist, and graphic designer.
A graduate from Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art, she previously worked at Ray+Keshavan | Brand Union, where she led the design team as Senior Design Director. She has designed brand identities across various sectors – Aviation, Personal Care, F&B, Healthcare, Education, Banking & Financial Services, Hospitality and Technology, on brands such as Vistara, Mother Diary, Yardley, Cipla and Plaksha University to name a few.
She designs typefaces where she specialises in Bengali and Latin scripts, and has collaborated with type foundries like Ek Type and Typotheque. Her fonts Baloo Da, Sama Latin, and Anek Bangla are available on Google Fonts and Apple.
Sulekha has spoken at several design conferences namely Typographics, TypeWknd, and DesignUp, and conducted workshops on lettering, type design, and branding. She has also taught at Srishti Institute of Design. Her work has been featured in Eye Magazine, Typism, Dieline, and has received awards at D&AD, One Show, Communication Arts, Kyoorius Design Awards, and TDC certificate of Typographic Excellence.
