Rabia Gupta is one of the pioneers of Graphic Design in India. A product of Wesleyan University, USA and NID, Ahmedabad, she has set benchmarks within this Industry with effective and culturally valid designs for nearly 3 decades. Rabia’s work is conceptual, original and always contextual.

Rabia set up rgd a specialized design consultancy in 1997 – one of the few dedicated studios that offered design based services across the three verticals – branding, packaging and editorial design.

Since then, the studio has consistently produced work that has been both strategic and impactful, creating a portfolio of work that is culturally relevant and India proud. The studio’s landmark projects straddle branding, packaging, editorial and signage. They include – The Bombay Book, Verve Magazine, The Sunday Review, The Mighty Tale of Hanuman in editorial design. In branding and identity – Dabhol Power, Pipapav Port, Crossword, Cotton world, Good Earth, Magic Bus Re-Branding, TFI, The Bay Club, Maker Maxity, Forest of Chintz, Abraham and Thakore to name a few.

Signage for Dabhol Power and Bombay International School. Packing projects include Sula Wines Packaging, TP Sangria, Colorama, ITC Ultramints, Mr and Mrs Flury, SOCI Gin amongst others.

Rabia has won several awards and has been featured in many leading publications like Times of India, Economic Times, Business World, Telegraph, Vogue, The Eye (UK),and other publications., She has represented India in International Design forums and has lectured at Design Schools in Mumbai. More recently the studio has been awarded best brand design studio by IBDA 3 years running 2020/21/22, and won a blue elephant at the Kyoorius awards 2021.
